Male NPT both ends forged barrel nipple in Stainless Steel 304/316, Duplex Steel and Super Duplex Steel — cylindrical barrel body between two threaded ends, manufactured to ASME B16.11 in Class 3000# and 6000#.

The Forged Threaded Barrel Nipple is a short pipe fitting with male NPT external threads at both ends and a plain cylindrical barrel body in the centre. Both threaded ends screw into female-threaded outlets on separate fittings, connecting them in a straight run with a defined standoff distance set by the barrel length. The difference between a barrel nipple and a hex nipple is the body profile — the barrel nipple has a round cylindrical centre (no wrench flats), requiring a pipe wrench to be used on the barrel body for installation.
Cunimet Alloy International manufactures barrel nipples in Short (S) and Long (L) standard barrel lengths, and can supply custom lengths to order. Both thread ends are machined on CNC centres to ASME B1.20.1 (NPT) tolerances. The round barrel body allows the nipple to be turned in confined radial spaces where a hex body would foul on adjacent pipework or structure.
Standard barrel lengths: Short (S) has the minimum unthreaded barrel length between thread runouts. Long (L) provides additional standoff. Custom lengths available to specified overall length. Thread form NPT per ASME B1.20.1. All dimensions in millimetres.

Austenitic stainless barrel nipples for joining female-threaded fittings in chemical, pharmaceutical, food and water treatment systems. SS 316 for chloride-bearing environments, marine and offshore screwed instrument and process piping.
High-strength duplex barrel nipples for offshore screwed connections, chemical plant instrument piping and desalination utility systems where both ends must provide equal corrosion resistance at all male thread surfaces throughout service life.
Premium super duplex barrel nipples with PREN greater than 40 for male threaded connections in seawater service, offshore topsides screwed piping and aggressive chloride-bearing environments where maximum corrosion resistance at every joint is specified.
Providing a defined separation distance between two female-threaded fittings — such as between a valve and a tee, or an elbow and a coupling — where the barrel length sets the physical gap required by the piping layout.
Extending instrument tapping points away from the pipe wall using a barrel nipple between the half coupling weld-on and the instrument valve, positioning the valve and instrument at a convenient height and angle for operator access.
Adding short increments of threaded pipe length to a screwed piping run where cutting and re-threading existing pipe is impractical, using a standard barrel nipple to fill the gap between two female-threaded fittings.
Short threaded extensions throughout offshore instrument and utility screwed piping in Stainless Steel or Duplex Steel, providing male-to-male connections where all adjacent fittings carry female NPT threads.
