Forged Threaded Full Coupling

NPT forged threaded full coupling in Stainless Steel 304/316, Duplex Steel and Super Duplex Steel — two equal female threaded ends, manufactured to ASME B16.11 in Class 2000#, 3000# and 6000#.

Forged Threaded Full Coupling – SS 304 316 Duplex Super Duplex ASME B16.11

Forged Threaded Full Coupling

The Forged Threaded Full Coupling is a two-outlet fitting used to join two equal-diameter threaded pipe ends in a straight run using female NPT connections at both ends. Both male-threaded pipe ends are screwed into the coupling from opposite sides, creating a fully screwed, demountable joint. The coupling transmits fluid from one pipe to the next without welding, allowing the piping to be assembled and disassembled using only a pipe wrench.

Cunimet Alloy International manufactures threaded full couplings through closed-die forging, producing a dense body with a homogeneous grain structure that delivers superior mechanical strength and corrosion resistance compared to cast alternatives. All threads are precision-cut on CNC turning centres to ASME B1.20.1 (NPT) tolerances and 100% go/no-go gauge inspected before dispatch. The hex outer profile on most sizes allows spanner tightening without deforming the fitting body.

2000# vs 3000# vs 6000# — Selection Guide

Class 2000#

Lightest wall, equivalent to Schedule 80. Used for moderate-pressure utility, instrument and process lines where maximum wall thickness is not specified. The economical choice for general-purpose screwed piping systems.

Sch 80 Equiv.Utility & Instrument

Class 3000#

Standard high-pressure class, equivalent to Schedule 160. The most widely specified class globally for threaded process piping in oil & gas, chemical and power applications. Suitable for the majority of industrial threaded systems.

Sch 160 Equiv.Standard Process

Class 6000#

Heaviest wall, equivalent to Double Extra Heavy (XXH). Specified for very high-pressure hydraulic, instrumentation and process service or where project specifications require maximum wall thickness in a threaded coupling.

XXH Equiv.High-Pressure

Material Grades for Threaded Full Couplings

Grade 01

Stainless Steel 304 / 316

Austenitic stainless steel threaded full couplings for chemical process, pharmaceutical, food and water treatment screwed piping systems. SS 316 provides superior chloride pitting resistance and is preferred for coastal, marine and offshore instrument and utility connections.

ASTM A182 F304 ASTM A182 F316 ASME B16.11
Grade 02

Duplex Steel

High-strength duplex alloy threaded couplings for offshore process instrument tubing, chemical plant screwed connections and desalination utility piping where stress corrosion cracking resistance and high yield strength are required.

ASTM A182 F51 UNS S31803 UNS S32205
Grade 03

Super Duplex Steel

Premium super duplex threaded couplings with PREN greater than 40 for screwed instrument connections, chemical injection system piping and utility headers in seawater service, offshore and aggressive chloride environments.

ASTM A182 F53 UNS S32750 UNS S32760

Where Threaded Full Couplings Are Used

01

Pipe-to-Pipe Joining

Connecting two equal-diameter threaded pipe sections in straight runs on process, utility and instrument lines where screwed connections are specified and the joint may need to be broken for maintenance.

02

Instrument & Tubing Systems

Joining instrument impulse tubing sections, sample lines and chemical injection tubing runs where threaded couplings provide easily removable joints between instrument transmitters, valves and panel connections.

03

Chemical Process Lines

Small-bore corrosive service piping in chemical plants in Class 3000# Stainless or Duplex Steel where screwed connections provide practical installation and maintenance access at coupling joints throughout the system.

04

Utility & Service Piping

Steam tracing, compressed air, nitrogen, water and fuel gas distribution piping where threaded full couplings join pipe sections in Class 2000# or 3000# screwed systems throughout industrial facilities.
